Forums disregard carriage returns

For readability, I try to have a space between paragraphs.

There is a space between this sentence and the one above it.

There are two spaces between this sentence and the one above it.

There are three… you get the idea. Why are the extra carriage returns being discarded/ignored?

Also, when you go to edit the post, the extra spacing is not retained so it seems on submitting it discards the extra spacing.

Also also the mobile site cached an old page for the forums so after making posts on a PC, I went to my iPhone and the topics looked like they were all deleted. I didn’t know if there was a manual approval process or if y’all just deleted the posts, but after I came back to the PC I saw all my posts. Then a few days later the iPhone showed them too. Maybe some caching directive for the mobile app is set to something funky, I dunno.
