If your Cargenta Brain lost connection, please follow the below steps:
Internet Status #
Make sure your Internet Status is Active:
- Tap on the vehicle name in the mobile app
- Select My Brain from the modal menu
- Check your Internet Status. If it says “Expired” you need to purchase additional Internet data.
Connection Issue #
Although rare, Cargenta Brain might loose connection. If your Internet Status is active, follow the steps below to try identify and fix the issue:
- If your device has one or two led light(s) on the bottom part (next to the Warranty sticker), check whether those are flashing in green. If flashing in green, the device is properly connected and has power to it. So proceed to next step.
If not flashing:- Check if Cargenta Brain is fully inserted into the OBD Port
- If you are using extension cable, make sure both the cable and Cargenta Brain are correctly inserted into the OBD port/cable.
- If still no green led lights are visible, please reach out to support@cargenta.com
- You can try to manually “reboot” the device. To do so, please disconnect the device from the OBD port and leave it on the vehicle dashboard for at least one hour. After that install Cargenta Brain once again in the OBD port.
Note: After approximately one hour the internal battery power should be exhausted and the device will shut down. Consequent installation will power the device up again and the connection search algorithm will automatically start again. - Network and GPS connection can be fastest initialized by driving the vehicle with Cargenta Brain installed. This guarantees visibility of maximum number of GPS satellites and optimal cellular connection signal strength. Therefore, you can try to got for 15-20 drive – ion best case scenario connection will be automatically reestablished.
- In rare situations, the OBD port is placed in a location where vehicle parts might be blocking GSP and/or cellular signal. If this is the case, please try to use OBD extension cable and temporarily move the device as close to the vehicle window as possible. This will allow unobstructed visibility towards the sky (required for GSP connection) and improved network signal (required for cellular data connection). Once connection is established you can try moving the device in more convenient location, observing the signal strength in the same time.
- If none of the above mentioned steps work, you can try to manually troubleshoot by connecting the Cargenta Brain via Bluetooth.
