Cargenta driver rating is a way to evaluate driving behavior based on real data collected from the vehicle. The system monitors events such as harsh acceleration, sudden braking, sharp cornering, speeding, excessive idling, and high engine RPM. Each of these is counted as an event, and the total number of events is used to calculate a score.
The score is calculated per trip (not as a lifetime average) and ranges from 0 to 10, where higher values indicate safer and more efficient driving:
8.00 – 10.00 → Excellent
6.00 – 7.99 → Good
4.00 – 5.99 → Not Good
2.00 – 3.99 → Bad
0.00 – 1.99 → Very Bad
By default, the system allows 10 events per 100 km. The score is then calculated based on how many events actually occurred during the trip relative to the distance driven.
Simple example:
If a driver travels 100 km:
With 10 events, the score is 10.0 (Excellent)
With 15 events, the score drops to approximately 6.7 (Good)
This means that fewer driving events (smoother driving) result in a higher score, while more frequent events reduce the rating.
The thresholds can also be adjusted from the device settings menu: Tap on the device > Settings.
the thresholds which can be edited are:
Speeding
Aggressive Acceleration
Aggressive Braking
Aggressive Cornering
