Changing the Sim Card in your Cargenta Brain is technically possible but we do not recommend it for the following reasons:
- To change the sim card, you will need to physically open the device. This action voids the warranty. If the device fails, we won’t be able to replace it free of charge under warranty.
- Once the sim card is changed, you will need to reconfigure the device to accept the new APN configuration.
This is done via Bluetooth using an Android phone. Apple devices, unfortunately, do not support Bluetooth classic connection, so this is only possible on Android devices. - With a different sim card, some features like reading/erasing the DTCs will not be available. Also, you won’t be able to adjust the advanced options on your device.
- Finally, with the new sim card, if your device loses connection for any reason, we won’t be able to troubleshoot remotely.
Therefore, this also limits the support you could receive.
